Phiaton Moderna Series Over-the-Ear Headphones

I bought these to mainly use at work while I crush models and powerpoints, but I also friggin love music...all kinds of music, and I must say that these cans sound great. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking to pay less than Beats by Dre/ Bose and stray away from the norm.

After much research and testing I decided to pick up these headphones and was not let down. Compared to most cans in this price range, the MS400 produces clears highs, solid midtones and quality bass for all types of music. I listen to music while I do everything. Working, sleeping, partying, you name it, there's always something playing. I also listen to all genres of music so it was really hard to find a pair of balanced headphones that could handle it all. I'm also very particular about quality of sound -- all of my mp3/m4a's are at 320Kbps. But everything I threw at it, made me love them more. I personally tested 4 different models ranging from Denon, Bose, Sennheiser and Technics. Each had their forte, but Phiaton's really stood out from the rest when it came to electronica, hip hop, alternative, house, classical, even audiobooks. My only caveat was that it fit tight when I first put them on, but after a month or so they feel comfortable and seem to 'break in' over time. Apparently other users have expressed the same. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars across the board. Other reviewers have complained about construction, but I think it's pretty solid in terms of build. It even comes with a compact carrying case and an extension cable. Some research revealed that Phiaton actually makes products for a number of other companies but not under their name (ie. Apple iPod earbuds, hands-free kits for cell phone companies, etc). I'm glad to see they are finally getting recognition for a quality product and look forward to see what other headphones they have in store.

I first ordered these headphones from Amazon over a year ago when I was looking for somethin to replace my Bose on-ear headphones I was a bit skeptical at first with a company I had never heard of, but i thought the risk was worth it, and it did pay off. I wanted to replace my old Bose headphones because I prefer hip-hop and rap music, and while the Bose were good at this, I wanted something that excelled Sound The sound of these cans are exceptional, they are balanced, yet warm and heavy in bass BUT not too heavy it is the perfect amount of bass without hurting the surrounding music, however here music quality does matter, so 320kbps is preferable to fully appreciate these headphones As I listened to my music, I realized that they excel at almost all types of music, the lows are nice, the mids are amazin and it can handle the highs perfectly. These headphones are truly amazing in sound. Another thing worth mentioning is how loud these things are, you don't really need an amp for these, they do fine on their own. They don't even distort at high levels which is amazing for there loudness Looks Without a doubt, these headphones are exceedingly flashy, but I personally love the look of it, for those who don't, there is an all black model also available. The red is very deep and complements the carbon fiber housing very well Durability The only problem I have with these are the durability. The structure and swiveling of the headphones of the phenomenal, but the 2 thin wires seem to be too thin and fragile... I have had times when I had to wiggle the wire to get the sound back due to the fragility, however that was 2 months ago and they seem to be doing fine since... Comfort When I first put these headphones on, they hurt. I could not wear them for more them an hour, but after a few weeks, they seemed to conform to my head. Somehow, they are amazingly comfortable now, so be warned, if they are uncomfortable, give them a chance. Overall, these headphones are amazing and are the best I've ever owned, you will not regret the price.
